Dating App, In the realm of online dating, Hatched is cracking the conventional approach with its gamified user experience. Departing from the typical profile picture format, the Dating app presents potential matches as eggs, unveiling their appearance only through a series of personality-driven questions that gradually crack open the shell.

To enhance the user experience, Dating App, Hatched has introduced a new in-app currency called “Yolks,” unlocking premium features like the ability to “super hatch” or super-like a match.

Excitingly, Hatched is now making its mark on the East Coast, gradually rolling out to states such as Virginia, Maryland, New York, New Jersey, Boston, and Pennsylvania, following a successful launch in Florida, Tennessee, South Carolina, North Carolina, Kentucky, and Mississippi.

While the concept of blind dating app is not new, Hatched takes a unique approach by providing thought-provoking questions that reveal character similarities, fostering a deeper connection. CEO and co-founder Mitch Alterman emphasizes the importance of shared values, citing studies that suggest greater similarity correlates with relationship success.

Upon tapping a match, users engage in a playful interaction. Answering questions similarly results in the gradual unveiling of a person’s selfie, starting from the bottom of the egg. A shaking egg that “cracks” open indicates a mutual response, while a flashing red egg suggests incompatibility. The “Egg On” option allows users to try again, provided both parties opt-in.

Questions, crafted by a team of therapists, delve into core values, interests, and character traits. The evolving database currently houses 500 questions, with periodic updates to keep the content fresh and relevant to the app’s growing user base.

Matches are organized in the “Egg Carton,” tracking the hatching progress. Categories range from “Goose Eggs” for unanswered questions to “Fully Hatched” for completed profiles.

One limitation is the daily allocation of six matches, but the new Yolks feature enables users to purchase additional eggs for 400 Yolks. Various Yolk bundles are available, catering to different preferences and usage patterns.

Looking ahead, Dating App, Hatched plans to introduce a subscription model next year, incorporating in-app purchases and exploring additional features like read receipts, alcohol use filters, political filters, and other match preferences.

Moreover, the app is actively developing a selfie verification system, engaging with moderation partners such as Hive, known for its work with Reddit, Tango, and Chatroulette.

Founded by Mitch Alterman, Sam Lukens (COO), and Reeves Kissel (CTO), Hatched has gained traction since its Valentine’s Day launch this year. With 10,000 monthly active users and a 30% month-over-month growth rate, the company secured $1 million in pre-seed funding from angel investors, including an executive from the Atlanta Hawks.

Hatched is available for download on the Apple Store and Google Play Store in select cities, offering a refreshing and interactive approach to online dating.
