Really Fandime NFTs: Transforming Movie Fandom with AR and Blockchain

Really collaboration with the blockchain platform Avalanche to introduce “Fandime” NFTs

In the realm of devoted movie enthusiasts, the traditional showcase of dedication often involved amassing physical memorabilia like autographed posters. However, a paradigm shift is underway, with digital collectibles emerging as the new emblem of a fan’s passion.

Enter Really, formerly known as Moviebill, an innovative Augmented Reality (AR) platform that redefines the movie-going experience by offering digital collectible movie tickets and interactive adventures tied to the latest blockbuster films. The latest buzz surrounds Really’s collaboration with the blockchain platform Avalanche to introduce “Fandime” NFTs – a novel approach for movie studios to connect with their audiences. Notably, the company is also expanding its AR collectible tickets to cinema partners in the Asia-Pacific region, covering Japan, Korea, Australia, the Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia, and Singapore.

Earning Fandime tokens is a dynamic process, encompassing activities such as attending movie theaters and events, purchasing merchandise, and engaging with Really AR experiences. These experiences include weekly trivia, scavenger hunts, and a captivating “Pop-a-Corn” game, where users toss kernels into a popcorn bucket. Fandime tokens are also available for direct purchase within the Really app, accessible on both iOS and Android devices.

Each Fandime token is endowed with a unique Blockchain-based ID, minted on Avalanche’s blockchain network, and securely stored in the user’s Really account. The allure of Fandime lies in its versatility, offering users the chance to redeem tokens for a myriad of digital rewards, exclusive movie-related AR content, opportunities, AR trophies, wearable face filters, and enhanced experiences within Really’s games.

Already making waves, Amazon MGM Studios has joined the fray by launching a collection on Really, strategically promoting less mainstream movies like “American Fiction,” “The Boys in the Boat,” and “The Beekeeper.” Collectors of all three AR tickets can earn exclusive Fandime tokens, with a recent addition being an AR collectible for the psychological thriller “Saltburn.”

CEO James Andrew Felts emphasizes the pioneering nature of Really’s approach, blending Augmented Reality and Blockchain to shape the future of content and data. Felts envisions a transition from 2D screens to 3D interfaces, making digital interactions more tactile and personal. The marriage of AR and Blockchain, according to Felts, humanizes our digital world, granting digital files a level of ownership akin to physical objects.

Looking ahead, Really plans to expand the avenues for users to earn Fandime tokens and redeem rewards. Future initiatives include purchasing movie tickets and merchandise via Really accounts, receiving discounts, and collecting Fandime tokens while enjoying content at home. In the long run, Really aims to diversify into original AR content beyond the entertainment sector, unveiling “Really Originals” – first-to-market AR stories that extend beyond the confines of the cinema.

Founded in 2017, Really initially gained prominence through its partnership with Regal Cinemas, offering exclusive AR content for major film releases. As AR and VR gain mainstream traction, Really’s technology continues to engage moviegoers with immersive experiences, facilitating a return to theaters on a grand scale.
