Nvidia, the prominent U.S. chipmaker, along with its employees, has made a significant contribution of $15 million to support civilians affected by the conflict between Israel and the Palestinian militant group Hamas. This donation, the largest in Nvidia’s 30-year history, demonstrates a global effort involving thousands of employees from over 30 countries.

In a collective effort, employees contributed $5 million, a sum that Nvidia matched and doubled to reach a total of $10 million. The funds were directed to various non-profit organizations in the region, including Asor Fund (JGive), American Friends of Magen David Adom, Doctors Without Borders, Friends of United Hatzalah, IsraAID (US) Global Humanitarian Assistance, Jewish Agency for Israel, World Central Kitchen, and Zaka.

 

Gideon Rosenberg, Nvidia’s deputy general counsel, expressed gratitude for the widespread support from employees worldwide. He acknowledged their concern for the well-being of their colleague, Avinatan Or, a 30-year-old engineer at Nvidia, who was captured by Hamas during the Nova music festival on October 7, along with his girlfriend and others. Some individuals taken captive have since been released.

 

In addition to the financial contribution, Nvidia demonstrated its commitment by donating hundreds of computers to families evacuated from northern and southern Israel. The company also provided thousands of hot meals from its Yokneam office cafeteria, emphasizing a holistic approach to supporting those affected by the conflict.

Nvidia remains steadfast in its dedication to humanitarian efforts, expressing hope for the safe return of Avinatan Or and the other hostages held by Hamas.
