iPhones Introduces Innovative Multi-Camera Podcast Recording Feature

iPhones Create Dynamic startup specializing

in iPhones video recording and editing applications for both Mac and iPhone, has unveiled an exciting new multiplayer feature. This innovative addition empowers users to effortlessly record multi-camera podcasts using two iPhones (or iPads) wirelessly.

Launched as part of an update to the iOS version of Detail, this multiplayer feature also automates the synchronization of video and audio feeds between the two devices, effectively eliminating the cumbersome editing process. Moreover, it offers a seamless podcast editing experience, enabling users to switch between different layouts like side-by-side, picture-in-picture, or full-screen layouts.

The company initially released its Mac app on the App Store in 2022 after a year of public beta testing. The iOS app was launched earlier this year and boasts a range of features. These include user-friendly templates and tools for creating reaction videos, tutorials, and video resumes. Notable features include a live green-screen editor, AI-generated captions, and a teleprompter. The Mac app, on the other hand, is geared towards video editing, offering AI-generated video descriptions and hashtags.

Users can opt to record audio using the iPhone’s built-in microphones, or they can enhance audio quality by using lavalier microphones. The Detail app captures both audio and video locally and then seamlessly syncs them. This is particularly advantageous for users who lack an external audio interface or mixer for separate audio tracks

While platforms like Zoom and Google Meet enable call recording on iPhones

Detail’s founder, Paul Veugen, emphasizes that podcasts don’t need to resemble video calls. He explains, “While our product on Mac evolved, we realized that people come to us for two things: a fully edited podcast episode that they can share instantly and great short-form content that helps them reach and build an audience on different platforms. But setting up cameras and recording on your Mac is still pretty complicated. We now simplify this to a few taps on iOS. It feels like we finally deliver on our promise of making pro video accessible for everyone.”

Veugen further highlights that multi-camera setups can be complex, and Detail’s aim is to simplify the process, granting creators the freedom to experiment with various camera angles by merely using iPhones. Notably, the iOS app already enables users to record using both front and back cameras simultaneously

Detail has secured a total of $7 million in funding from backers including Adjacent, TQ Ventures, Point Nine Capital, Connect Ventures, Hustle Fund, Alexander Ljung, Anke Huiskes, Hiten Shah, and Sten Tamkivi.

Looking ahead, Veugen reveals that Detail has exciting plans, with features such as remote recording, AI-powered auto-editing (introduced for Mac last week), and AI-generated highlight clips in the pipeline for its iOS app in the coming weeks.
