The Commission’s recent actions include urgent requests to Meta, X, and TikTok, demanding comprehensive plans to combat the dissemination of terrorism-related, violent, and hate speech content on their platforms.

Failure to meet the Commission’s expectations may lead to investigations, with potential repercussions for the companies involved. Penalties of up to 6% of their global turnover loom over platforms that fail to adequately address the issue of harmful content.
