The share transactions occurred on Wednesday and Thursday of last week, as indicated in the filings. The sale initiative, announced by Amazon last week, is part of a broader plan that Bezos adopted on November 8, 2023. According to the company’s latest annual report, the execution of this plan is expected to be completed by January 31, 2025, subject to specific conditions.

 

Jeff Bezos, who transitioned from the role of the company’s chief executive to executive chairman in 2021, founded Amazon in 1994, originally as a bookseller. Currently holding the position as the world’s second-richest person, with a net worth of $200 billion, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, Bezos continues to play a significant role in shaping the trajectory of Amazon’s future.
