Microsoft Teams Services Restored After Brief Disruption
Microsoft Teams services faced a disruption on Friday, temporarily impeding access to the messaging platform. Swift action by the company led to the resolution of the issue, with services fully restored by Saturday.
In a communication on X (formerly Twitter), Microsoft assured users, stating, “After extended monitoring and mitigation efforts, we’ve confirmed that our Microsoft Teams service and features have been restored or have returned to optimal health.”
User complaints surged on Friday, peaking at over 14,000 incidents in the afternoon, according to the outage tracking website Downdetector.com. However, by Saturday, all reported incidents had been successfully resolved.
Earlier, Microsoft had identified a networking issue affecting a segment of the Teams service and promptly initiated a failover procedure to address the issue.
Widely used by professionals for scheduling online meetings, chatting, and file-sharing, Microsoft Teams is a crucial component of Microsoft’s popular 365 software suite.
